Scream Queers Horror Book Club

About the Book Club

SLC Scream Queers is a queer horror book club. Due to the graphic nature of some of the books read by the group, it is an 18+ book club but is otherwise open to all.

The Scream Queers book club meets at 1 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month and discusses a different horror novel. We've been able to connect with authors and artists and receive swag before, so this is not a book club to miss!

COVID Precautions

It is a requirement for both the bookstore and the book club to wear a mask. An air purifier will be running in the room throughout the duration of the book club meeting.

Cost: Please bring a contribution (sliding scale $1-5) for the meeting room reservation at Under the Umbrella. If $1 a month is a barrier for you, you are still welcome to attend!

When possible, please support the store and the authors by purchasing a copy here! Most books should also be available at local libraries. One copy of each book is available for free to any BIPOC person interested in reading the book but unable or unwilling to pay for a copy. Please contact Elliot if cost is a barrier for you. If you buy a book for next month's book club at Under the Umbrella, you get 10% off your book.
