About the Event

The LGBTea & Read is a LGBTQIA+ centered book club for 20-30 year olds trying to make new queer friends in the city! Books are focused around different social issues that impact marginalized individuals in our community, such as Abolitionism, Environmentalism, Gender Studies, and more. Join Q, our facilitator, once a month at Tea Zaanti for engaging discussion, a cup of tea, and maybe a treat or two! Discounts on food, drinks (alcohol excluded), and monthly reading selections are proudly offered by Under the Umbrella and Tea Zaanti Cafe.

Please note that this book club meets at Tea Zaanti, NOT Under the Umbrella. Tea Zaanti serves alcohol and does not require masks. Please contact teazaantievents@gmail.com with questions or concerns.

About The Intersectional Environmentalist

The Intersectional Environmentalist examines the inextricable link between environmentalism, racism, and privilege, and promotes awareness of the fundamental truth that we cannot save the planet without uplifting the voices of its people -- especially those most often unheard. Written by Leah Thomas, a prominent voice in the field and the activist who coined the term "Intersectional Environmentalism," this book is simultaneously a call to action, a guide to instigating change for all, and a pledge to work towards the empowerment of all people and the betterment of the planet.
